We are staying open

Following the prime minister’s announcement on Monday 4th January 2021 we would like to reassure you that The Queens Dental Practice will remain open during the 2nd national lockdown and all scheduled appointments will take place. All our treatments and services remain available, including our hygienist services.

We are confident in our protocols and precautions and have stocked up on PPE in anticipation of this second wave so we will be here for you if you need us.

We are very proud of the fact that we have been caring for many of our patients over many years. Our practice philosophy has always been to look out for the best long-term interests of our patients.

This is why, although confident of the measures we have in place to ensure your safety, we strongly recommend that patients over eighty years of age who have yet to be vaccinated, and those who were advised to shield during the first lockdown, should defer non-essential and non-urgent care. If, however, you do have a pressing issue or emergency please contact us and we will swiftly arrange an appointment for you.

We would also advise this course of action if you are at increased risk of getting severely ill from the virus – for example, those aged 70 years and over with a relevant health condition who have not received the vaccine yet.

If you have any questions, queries or concerns regarding your dental health then feel free to contact us as were are also available to offer telephone advice and support as well.

During these uncertain times we will continue to take extra precautions to protect our patients as well as our team and the wider community from the threat of coronavirus.

The additional safety measures we are taking include:

  • Enhanced infection control procedures
  • Screening and triage of all patients for symptoms and exposure to coronavirus
  • Operating social distancing practice as best we can with markings on the floor to help.
  • Encouraging good hand hygiene with a hand cleaning station for you to clean your hands upon entry and when exiting the practice
  • Allocated times of the day when we see vulnerable patients to help to protect them from the virus
  • Scheduling of appointments to minimise the contact between you, other patients and the staff, and to also allow time for additional and more thorough cleaning and disinfection of the surgery and equipment.
  • Using enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Carrying out pre-appointment telephone assessments and consultations to minimise your time in the surgery and to ensure we are as well prepared for your appointment as we can be.
  • Taking payments via credit card and over the phone in advance and after your appointment where possible.
  • Carrying out medical history updates via our online portal in advance of your appointment.

These changes are not unique to our practice as all dentists in England are required to take these precautions to help to protect against the spread of the coronavirus. The introduction of these additional measures will help to protect both you and our team as well as the wider community, but it does mean your dental appointment is going to be very different to what you have experienced before. We would like to reassure you that you will still have the same friendly and caring team to support and help you through these challenging times.

We’d love to hear from you
